About & Editorial Policy
Korea Decoded is an independent English-language guide for people who want to travel through South Korea with fewer surprises and a better understanding of the country.
Why I created Korea Decoded
I hold Korea’s national Tourist Interpreter Guide qualification in English, spent seven years teaching Korean to international students at university, and have professional experience in broadcasting.
Working with visitors and students showed me how often the most useful questions are overlooked. How do I choose the right subway direction? Why does a particular custom matter? What should I expect before I arrive?
I created Korea Decoded to answer those questions with practical instructions and cultural context. My goal is to help readers navigate Korea confidently and understand the country beyond a list of places to visit.
How we make recommendations
We compare convenience, route fit, luggage and the needs of different travelers. Each guide distinguishes official information, firsthand material and editorial judgment. We do not invent personal experiences. When we offer a recommendation, we explain the reasoning and link to the factual sources.
Accuracy and updates
Source-check dates appear in our guides. Prices, schedules, app screens and venue rules can change. Follow the linked operator for the terms that apply to your journey. Send corrections with the page address and supporting source to wondertren@gmail.com.
Editorial independence
Our launch content contains no paid placements or affiliate tracking links. If commercial relationships are added later, we will label them clearly. We do not accept payment in exchange for an undisclosed recommendation.
